Dear Together Friends, Fans, and Family,
Our regular newsletter takes summer vacation in July (though you can still find me on Instagram on some #semiTogetherMom #bigblendedfamilyadventures with Dr. Together and Together Farmer and our West Coast Together Fam – and check out my blog with tips for what I pack to keep my Together Teens occupied on our annual Maine pilgrimage!), but we wanted to remind you of ways to hang out with us this summer and fall. (PS I just had a MOMENT when I realized that the pre-service teachers I’m training this summer were not even born when I started teaching fifth grade in 1999. But, you know what?! I’m here for my years of wisdom as I head into 25+ years in education and nonprofits.)
Summer in Maine isn’t complete without LOBSTAH!
- Join a Together Course. Come join us for an open enrollment class. One recent participant shared, “The content was meaningful, applicable, and practical. The presentation was engaging. Thank you for a wonderful learning experience that will help me save time and focus more on the important work associated with my role.”
- Fall Together Topics! Based on input from all of you, Together Team Member Ana and I are considering hosting monthly informal (and free) Together Topics this fall, to both share thoughts and learn from you all about what is really working. The idea here is “Bring an Idea; Get an Idea!” around commonly-asked topics, such as “How do you Together your holiday season?” or “How do you Together your students/kids?” Do you have a Together Topic you would add to our list? Write me here to share more!
Other than that, The Together Team is busy prepping for a gazillion summer classes, and trying to find some routine amongst the camp and teen job schedule rotation! We’ve had a great time so far this summer with Springpoint Schools, West Memphis School District, and Achievement First! We’re excited to get Together with KIPP DC, TFA Baltimore, Crescent City Schools, and Prospect Schools coming up soon.
